D E S C R I P T I O N

HunterLab, a leader in color technology, has an exciting opportunity for an Electro-Optical Engineer to join our team. The Electro-Optical Engineer is responsible for leading the design and introduction of the next generation of HunterLab’s spectroscopic instrumentation.

Essential Job Functions:  Under limited supervision, designs and tests new and existing optical systems for optimal instrument design  Design and test optical systems.  Specifies and/or designs electronic circuits for instrument designs  Design computer programs, spreadsheets, etc. for testing optical systems  Write reports on findings.  Make formal and informal design presentations to others.  Keep up to date on “state of the art” in electro-optic field.  Manages projects with multi-disciplinary design team for total product design. Identifies and uses outside resources as needed.  Other related duties as assigned.

R E Q U I R E M E N T S
  • Minimum Requirements: Education: B.S. in Physics, Optics or Electronics Engineering, M.S. preferred Work Experience: 5+ years related product development work experience Skills: Lens design, optical component specification, especially optical gratings, stray light analysis, optical breadboard fabrication, electronic design Capabilities: Broad understanding of electro-optical systems design and optical sub-systems. Familiarity with optical design tools and methodologies, computer programming in LabView or similar languages. Understanding of color measurement and spectroscopic principles desirable.
