CrystaLaser, founded in 1995, is a leading manufacturer of ultra-compact diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) lasers and laser systems in broad wavelength selection including CW and Q-switched pulsed lasers.

CrystaLaser has an open manufacturing engineering position for our DPSS and Q-Switch laser product lines. Will have a wide range of responsibilities in both NPI and Sustaining activities: (1) New Product Introduction: the preparation of product documentation and procedures for the transfer of new or revised products from R&D to Manufacturing. Activities will include collecting/creating detailed product documentation, drawings, spec sheets for off-the shelf purchased products, assembly and test instructions, internal specifications, parts item masters, BOM’s, implementing manufacturing process controls/quality inspection points, check sheets, perform validation testing and characterization, specifying or designing tooling and fixtures or production equipment, updating information in SAP (ERP system) and preparing the product’s sales configurator. (2) Sustain Existing Products: Will train production assemblers and help manage production. Will be heavily involved with the ERP system. Will track leading indicators in manufacturing, and improve on-time delivery. Will perform root cause analysis of product field failures, internal yield loss, and late deliveries using lean six-sigma tools. Will track and expedite inventory shortages.

• The ideal candidate will have a BS degree or higher degree in Lasers, Electro-optics, Optics, Physics or related technical degree; have good English reading and speaking ability; and have at least 2 years experience, preferably in laser manufacturing. There can be a good future for someone who is dependable, quality conscious, willing to work hard and is serious about a career in the growing laser field. Experience with any of the following is a plus: Experience or exposure to world-class, high-tech manufacturing processes and procedures in areas such as change control, lean manufacturing, six sigma and SAP Business One (ERP), or new product introduction. Must have some electronics troubleshooting capability, or some mechanical design capability (AutoCAD), ability to set up test automation (C++, data acquisition, Lab View). An understanding of ISO 9001 and some supervision experience is a plus.
