This software position will be responsible for development, support, and quality activities surrounding the development and release of ZYGO proprietary next generation software used across our metrology products in standard and custom products and components.

Qualified candidate will work under general direction, independently developing solutions to a wide range of problems and needs.

• Responsible for technical assignments, projects, or related tasks in the development, updating and troubleshooting of ZYGO’s next generation software platform including design, development, review, testing, and support. You will be expected to work at all levels of software from motion control, to data acquisition, to applications, to graphical user interface. Software development opportunities include GUI, application logic, hardware interfacing, vision solutions, and system control. We are seeking a generalist with strong problem solving/analytical skills who can apply them to the technical problems presented. Additionally responsibilities include:
• Apply extensive technical expertise, and have full knowledge of other related disciplines.
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Work will be performed without appreciable direction. Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective, for desired results.
• Guide the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
• Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
