D E S C R I P T I O N
This position drives continuous quality improvements in products and production process yields, cost structure, and predictability of product/process quality and performance. In close collaboration with the Manufacturing and the Engineering Team investigates and corrects various quality issues related to internal non-conformances, product returns, supplier issues, customer complaints and corrective action requests. Ensures compliance with internal procedures and work instructions. Collects, analyzes and presents Quality data for trending and for the development of Quality Performance Indicators. Refines and maintains the Root Cause/Corrective Action program. Assists in the preparation for external audits and conducts internal audits. Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals. Leads development of Quality Control Program Assists in the creation of Quality Assurance Work Instructions. Institutes the use of Pareto analysis and SPC. Collects, analyzes and issues data from various quality programs to appropriate departments. Assists Engineering in developing and evaluating test methods to meet product specifications. Communicates customer quality concerns throughout the organization. Designs and develops forms for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality reliability data Performs other tasks as needed and directed by the Quality Assurance Manager
R E Q U I R E M E N T S
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualified individuals should have 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a fast paced job shop or contract-manufacturing environment. Experience in optical engineering is required.
Individual should have a high technical understanding.
