The Photonics Group recruits engineers nationwide for companies that design and manufacture optical, electro-optic, and laser systems. Our major business clientele is military contractors who build high energy lasers. DPSS lasers, Directed energy laser systems, LIDAR, LADAR,s IR imaging Cameras and sensors, Night vision systems, laser range finders, targeting and fire control systems, and space based electro-optical systems. We also work with commercial optic and laser component manufacturers whose products are used to build these systems, and with companies that use the military technology for commercial purposes like laser bar code scanners, CCD cameras, or laser surgery.
A minor part of our business has been with companies building micro optic or fiber optic products. The common feature of all our clients is that they are designing and building cutting edge optics and electro-optic technology. Our client companies are located across the US, concentrated near the major optics centers of Rochester, Boston, Orlando, Tucson, and southern California, but also in a dozen or so other locations. The positions we work on range from design engineer to senior manager, all requiring a strong technical background in the optics and electro-optics systems industry.

Position: Research and Development Optical Engineer Location: PA Experience: 5+ years Education: BA
Research and Development Engineer to design and develop optical components, assemblies and systems. Engineers assigned to this area of research will characterize and evaluate optical components, assemblies and systems; model optical designs; and align and assembly optical hardware.
R E Q U I R E M E N T S
- Minimum educational and work-related experience requirements are: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Optics, Electro-Optics, Physics or related field plus five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must be proficient in ZEMAX. Previous LabVIEW and/or MATLAB experience preferred. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation.
Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply with abiltiy to obtain a security clearance.
