Job Location Danbury, CT

Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in designing and implementing digital electronic systems, including D/A, A/D, DSP, microcontrollers and microprocessor based systems. Extensive VHDL coding knowledge and experience required.

• Perform requirements review, design to cost analysis, design for testability, design for manufacturability, create schematics, create BOMs, perform simulations, provide guidance and direction for PCB layout, assist as needed on manufacturing pilot runs.
• Implement designs for CPLD’s and FPGA’s using VHDL with strong focus on test benching capabilities.
• Design, troubleshoot and implement digital systems incorporating A/D, D/A, microprocessors and microcontrollers.
• Perform design studies and design implementation activities DSP controllers and CPU’s.
• Perform system engineering, requirements management and systems architecture.
• Integrate large Navy systems using custom building blocks and COTS components.
• Validates system performance using analysis, simulation, and laboratory testing.
• Generates complete system documentation and provides input to technical proposals in order to effectively communicate the design and/or approach to our internal and external customers.
• Independently develop and implement corrective action to product and procedural problems identified.
• Provides guidance, direction, and mentorship of less experienced design engineers in order to increase our design expertise base within the company with an emphasis on performance, design optimization and re-use.
• Communicates with the customer and internal management as the technical expert on large systems projects in order to effectively interface with all facets of decision-making personnel and customer.
• Capable of assisting in business development, generate system specifications and architectures in trying to provide cost effective engineered solutions.
• Provide schedule, and technical compliance updates to management in order to effectively record progress of technical aspects of the program assigned.

• Bachelor´s Degree in Electrical Engineering, required
• MS Degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus
• 10+ years of experience required
• Experience with Power PC, DSP, Digital Video and VHDL designs is a plus
• Extensive PC skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows
• United States Citizenship is required

This position could require the ability to obtain and retain any applicable security clearances, including interim security clearances, within a time period to be established by the Company

• Strong inter-personal and communication skills to aid communications within the engineering community
• Technical leader who is action-oriented, ability to apply sound judgment to complex issues and is self-motivated.
• Familiarity with military specifications and military design experience is desired
• Ability and willingness for travel, including air travel, if required
