Title: Program Manager

Position Summary:

 

Responsible for the Planning, Monitoring and Controlling of complex programs to ensure customer requirements are met along with DRS-CCI’s business objectives. Will be DRS-CCI’s key representable at customer IPT(s) and lead day-to-day program execution. Will report to the Director of Programs.

 

Duties and Responsibility:

  • Lead the effort for development program plans, defining methods for monitoring program performance and responsible for overall project execution/control
  • Manage and direct the daily execution of product requirements to assure that cost, schedules and other performance goals are met
  • Lead all meetings and the integrated product team (kick-off through project close)
  • Provide interface, communication and coordination with internal and external customers on matters pertaining to existing contracts and bid and proposal activities
  • Lead bid and proposal activities. Insure that the requirements of the proposal are met
  • Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations. While representing Company’s interests, assure that all government regulatory guidance is adhered to.
  • Develop and implement plans and schedules to execute contracts/subcontracts. Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel and purchased services. Report project status to senior management on a monthly basis.
  • Formally identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risk throughout the project life cycle. Obtains management approval prior to making decisions that will cause deterioration of established project, cost and schedule objectives.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans when deviations from budgets and/or schedules are evident.

• Perform variance analysis of schedule and cost on a formal and informal basis and present them to senior management (i.e. earned value management system)

  • Serve as the primary interface with the customer on all matters involving contract execution. Coordinate with other departments on resolution of contractual problems with the customer. Coordinate with
  • Provide leadership to project team. Assures communication and cooperation among team members and resolves areas of conflict
  • Understand and develop leading verses lagging indicators
  • Develop and execute project corrective action strategies

 

Basic Qualifications (include education and years of experience required):

  • 7-12 years of Experience as a Project Manager
  • Develop and understand principles of project planning
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business
  • Experience in projects involved with Electronic Systems
  • Knowledge of project management tools and procedures
  • Solid communications, leadership, problem solving and decision making skills

• Experience throughout the program lifecycle from development through sustainment to include: proposal development, requirements decomposition, generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation cost reduction and performance improvement efforts

 

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

• Program Management Certification

• Master’s Degree in Business

• Experience with Primavera

• Knowledge and experience with Nuclear Power Plants

• Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting; experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity and variance analysis

• Experience in managing aerospace/defense projects as a prime or sub-contractor to a domestic or foreign military organization

 

 

This position could require the ability to obtain and retain any applicable security clearances, including interim security clearances, within a time period to be established by the Company
