Title: Assembler I

Position Summary:

Responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule and within budget. Follows written work instructions. Must maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS). Proper use of required PPE. May participate in LEAN Events, “Six S” activities, action teams etc. Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.

Duties and Responsibility:

• Performs wire harness assembly functions, which include: wire prep, mechanical, wire harness assembly, typically working from drawings, wire lists, & large harness boards, within Production.
• Build large, complex wire harness assemblies using nail boards.
• Read and decipher assembly drawings, wire lists, and possibly electrical schematics.
• Must be able to identify and work with various gauges and types of wire/cable.
• Must be able to access and work to production documentation (routers, parts list, work instructions, etc.).
• Must be able to strip, crimp, & install solder sleeves to at least IPC-620 standards.
• Must be able to use a variety of small hand tools (strippers, crimpers, heat guns, thermal strippers, etc.)
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS)

Basic Qualifications (include education and years of experience required):

• High School Diploma or GED
• US Citizenship
• 1 year of experience in Assembly

· Ability to use hand tools and torque tools

· Ability to read detail through final assembly drawings

· Ability to follow routings, visual aids and NQA/ISO procedures

· Goal oriented person willing to accept accountability and possessing pride in workmanship
