Title: Mechanical Engineer III

 

Position Summary:

Involved with the design, fabrication and modification of mechanical and/or electro mechanical components, weldments, sub-systems and systems. Duties may include Mechanical Analysis, Aerodynamics/Fluids, Acoustic, Thermal, Fluid Systems, Mechanical Packaging, or others. Evaluates and recommends design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or services. Investigates solutions to product or process problems.

 

Duties and Responsibility:
  • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
  • Ability to complete a technical project independently and mentor and coach other engineers. Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Support design engineering in the release of drawings
  • Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements
  • Perform Thermal, Seismic, Shock and Vibration Evaluations, as necessary
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
  • Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Support the quote of new products and updates to existing products
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer
  • Provides technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
  • Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress
  • May mentor and coach the work of others as assigned
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

 

 

Basic Qualifications (include education and years of experience required):
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of experience Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge
  • Expected to have knowledge and significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance

 

 

This position could require the ability to obtain and retain any applicable security clearances, including interim security clearances, within a time period to be established by the Company

 

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

 

  • Experience with NX Modeling and Simulation, Pro-E, NQA practices and Welding (NAVSEA), a plus
