Position: Optical Design Engineer
Location: WA
Experience: 7+
Education: BS
Company is currently recruiting for an Optical Design Engineer
Job specific functions include:
Work closely with other members of a multi-disciplined project team to develop imaging and projection systems using scanning laser beam technology.
Develop novel optical solutions for scanning laser beam display systems.
Stay apprised of available optical technology outside the organization.
Required Skills
Use tolerance analysis to verify designs.
Optimize the designs for manufacturability with mechanical engineers and fabricators.
Work with vendors to develop specifications for optical components and assemblies.
Evaluate optical components and build prototypes of the engine to validate the design. Responsibilities also include identification and validation of new optical technologies.
Working experience with ZEMAX, CodeV, or FRED Software is highly desired.
Required Experience
Minimum of 7 years' experience developing products with optics
Experience in modeling coherent beam propagation and interference highly desirable
Product development experience is a plus
Experience in optical modeling with mathematics tools and optical design using ray tracing methods
Hands-on experience with optical systems and optical test setups
Experience in display systems, specifically heads up display systems, is highly desired
