Title: Senior Systems Engineer

 

Position Summary:

The employee will perform Systems Engineering duties in support of new and ongoing Military and Commercial Nuclear projects. The employee will be involved with the analysis, design, development and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems, including system architecture design, requirements engineering and development of system specifications

 

Duties and Responsibility:

  • Review customer specifications and requirements and
  • Generate System Requirements
  • Develop System Architectures
  • Allocate System Requirements to sub-systems / components
  • Perform Requirement Verification
  • Ensure System Requirements are met by design including design to cost requirements
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
  • Responsible for leading cross-functional groups of engineers on technical activities and completion of activity on time and budget
  • Ability to lead a technical group independently
  • Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Develop and execute risk management plans
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Participates in preparation of proposals
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
  • Lead and direct the work of others as assigned
  • Perform / Lead System Integration Tasks
  • Prepare Procurement Specifications
  •  

Basic Qualifications (include education and years of experience required):

  • BS in Electrical, Systems or Nuclear Engineering (MS Preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a PLC controls Engineer
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel in support of Business
  • Development activities
  • MUST BE ABLE to obtain a security clearance

 

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in IBM® Rational® DOORS® a plus
  • Proficiency in control system design using MATLAB Simulink® tools a plus
  • Experience is performing reliability analysis a plus
  • Experience is performing FME(C)A Analysis a plus
  • Experience in dealing with international customers
  • Design control systems utilizing PLC architecture
  • Implement control systems utilizing PLC architecture
  • Experience with Modicon PLCs
  • Experience with Redundant and SIL 3 PLC applications

 

 

This position could require the ability to obtain and retain any applicable security clearances, including interim security clearances, within a time period to be established by the Company
