Technical Sales Engineer

The Technical Sales Engineer position job duties include:

• Provides technical support for sales staff and North America Call Center.
• Leads complex, OEM quote projects.
• Negotiates OEM and special order specifications with customers, suppliers and internal manufacturing engineers.
• Communicates with customers to consolidate specs and recommend configurations.
• Prepares quote packages including sales drawings, cost worksheets and acceptance test documentation.
• Develops and maintains standard material cost calculators, and standard specification templates for each product code.
• Keeps informed of competitors' pricing, products, and services by acquiring catalogs and reading technical journals.

• This position will require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident or ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.

   Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in optical engineering, physics or other related field, with preferably 2-4 years industry experience.
• Strong background in laser optics and preferably optical coatings.
• Ability to lead sales processes from design to purchase order.
• Ability to lead complex quote processes with customers, suppliers and manufacturing engineers.
• Strong listening skills, and ability to multi-task.
