Operator Summary Description: This position is responsible for the set-up, programming/editing and operation of Diamond Turning machines. Knowledge of aspheric measurement and testing methods using Interferometers, Talysurf, and NewView instruments. A lead contributor, on a department team, in the fabrication of IR diamond turned optics at the component level. This position reports to the Diamond Turning Department Manager.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of IR materials
• Experience in the set-up, programming/editing and operation of DT machines
• Perform machine maintenance and repairs as required
• Knowledge of spherical/aspheric metrology testing methods and equipment
• Follow ISO procedures and methods
• Work with other members of the team

Specific Requirements /Qualifications:

• Technical degree or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years experience in CNC or DT machine set-up, programming/editing and operation
• Ability to maintain DT equipment according to schedules
• Organized, with strong technical and computer skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• As requested, complete special assignments for the Department Manager
