Responsible for the software and hardware development, documentation and support of portions of the test plans for the Tx and Rx modules required in a 500 GBit Photonics Integrated Circuit (PIC) based DWDM network solution
Define and configure required test instrumentation and hardware
Develop VB.NET software to fully automate the test execution
Develop and support the automated manufacturing test infrastructure
Partner with engineering staff to define and implement detailed testability requirements
Provide fault isolation and identification capability to the manufacturing technical staff
Drive end to end test yield improvements and test time reduction efforts
Assist in strategy to identify failures early in the test process
Utilize product functional and architectural knowledge to implement optimal test processes
Familiarity with QPSK theory, optical test including BER, Eye Diagram, and PDL measurements, EEPROM programming, and digital logic
Develop interfaces for test data transfer from VB.NET test environment to Microsoft SQL Server data base
Education / Experience
BS in science or engineering required, MS desired (Physics, Optics, Electrical Eng)
Minimum of 5-8 years experience with optical networking industry related manufacturing test development
Direct experience developing test solutions for passive and active optical components and subsystems
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Proven ability to develop software and hardware for fully automated test solutions of optoelectronic transmitter and receiver modules and/or line cards
Attention to detail and willingness to produce detailed test plan documentation
Hands on experience with electrical and optical test and measurement equipment including optical attenuators, switches, polarization controllers, optical spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes
Strong knowledge in statistical analysis of product test parameters and equipment measurement capabilities to establish required test methods that meet specifications
